En 1979, sous l’impulsion de la nouvelle conservatrice Marie-Claude Beaud, le musée oriente sa muséographie vers l’art contemporain postérieur à 1960. La Ville réalise des achats d’œuvres d’artistes contemporains renommés.

La nouvelle orientation muséographique s’accompagne d’un projet de rénovation des locaux. Des travaux sont entrepris et une partie des locaux rénovés. La grande salle (à l’Ouest) du rez-de-chaussée est désormais réservée aux expositions temporaires. Des réserves dotées de matériels modernes et fonctionnels sont créées dans la salle centrale du rez-de-chaussée.

In 1979, under the impetus of the new curator Marie-Claude Beaud, the museum turned its museography towards contemporary art from 1960 onwards. The City began to purchase works by renowned contemporary artists.

The new museographic direction was taken concurrent to a project to renovate the premises. Work is undertaken and part of the premises is renovated. The great room (to the west) on the ground floor is now reserved for temporary exhibitions. Reserves with modern and functional equipment are created in the central room on the ground floor.

Nel 1979, sotto l’impulso della nuova direttrice Marie-Claude Beaud, il museo si orienta verso l’arte contemporanea post-1960. Il Comune inizia ad acquistare opere di prestigiosi artisti contemporanei.

Il nuovo orientamento museografico è accompagnato da un progetto di rinnovo dei locali. Iniziano così i lavori di ristrutturazione di una parte dell’edificio. La grande sala ovest del piano terra viene riservata alle esposizioni temporanee. Nella sala centrale del piano terra vengono creati i depositi museali, dotati di attrezzature moderne e funzionali.
