L’expression Nouveaux Fauves (Neue Wilde) désigne un groupe d’artistes qui, au début des années 1980, en Allemagne et en Autriche, ont développé une peinture violente, insouciante et hédoniste. Ils ont reçu cette appellation en référence aux Fauves français qui, à Paris, au tout début du 20e siècle, ont expérimenté une peinture aux couleurs violentes.
The term New Fauves (Neue Wilde) refers to a group of artists who in the early 1980s in Germany and Austria developed a violent, carefree and hedonistic painting. They were given this name in reference to the French Fauves who, in Paris at the very beginning of the 20th century, experimented with violent colour painting.
Il termine New Fauves (Neue Wilde) si riferisce a un gruppo di artisti che nei primi anni ’80 in Germania e in Austria svilupparono una pittura violenta, spensierata ed edonistica. Gli è stato dato questo nome in riferimento ai Fauves francesi che, a Parigi all’inizio del XX secolo, hanno sperimentato la pittura a colori violenti.
